Meet Anita
Dr. Anita Stewart McCafferty is passionate about providing impactful professional learning opportunities for educators. She has served as a teacher, mentor, administrator (principal and assistant principal), consultant, university faculty member, department chair, pK-12-university partnership director, service learning coordinator, and Title 1 co-coordinator.
Currently, Anita is a faculty member in the Educational Leadership program at the University of Southern Maine and serves as the Chair of the Educational Leadership and Adult & Higher Education Department, as well as the Program Lead for the accelerated online Master's Degree programs -Teacher Leadership with a Concentration in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment and Educational Leadership (Administration).
Prior to joining USM nine years ago, Anita spent 18 years as a teacher and administrator. She also taught as a part-time faculty member in the undergraduate pre-service Teacher Ed program at UMaine and in the Liberal Studies program at KVCC.
